Mississippi Mud Run Official Rules

The following rules and guidelines are intended to help create a fun and safe event for all participants.

• Participants must abide by all instructions given from the race director, race staff, volunteers and medical personnel.

• Any participant who disobeys instructions from any course official is subject to disqualification and/or removal from the race. This includes but is not limited to unsportsmanlike behavior, nudity, and offensive language.

• Participants understand and acknowledge that this race is an extreme event and accept all risks associated with the event.

• Participants attempting to win must complete all obstacles. If an obstacle is too difficult the participant may go around it, however by doing so the participant forfeits his or her eligibility to win.

• This is a community based fun run, so participants should help others complete obstacles if necessary.

• Do not dive headfirst into the mud pit.

• All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present on race day to sign the pre-race waiver.

• Participants must wear the provided bib with number clearly shown on their back. No participant will be allowed to race without an official bib number.

• Participants must dress appropriately as this is a family friendly event.

• Shoes must be worn during the race to help avoid injury. 

• Several videographers and photographers may be stationed along the course. Participants agree to allow the event producer to use any pictures or video footage of the event for future promotional purposes.

• Baby joggers, baby strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, skateboards or any other type of wheeled device are strictly prohibited on the course.

• Urinating or defecating on or anywhere near the course is strictly prohibited.

• Alcohol and other recreational drugs are strictly prohibited on the race course property. Any runners or spectator using intoxicants will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

• Age division awards will be determined based on one’s age on race day.

• Medical personnel reserve the right to examine anyone who they feel needs medical attention.

• All participants assume responsibility for medical costs that may be incurred while participating in the event.

• These rules are subject to change by race officials as need arises.
